This self-paced course helps Muslim patients, families, healthcare professionals, chaplains, imams, and community leaders understand end-of-life healthcare through both practical healthcare knowledge and Islamic ethical guidance. Learners will explore key terms, advance care planning, hospice and palliative care, healthcare decision-making tools, Islamic perspectives on treatment, DNR/DNI orders, withholding and withdrawing life-sustaining treatments, and family conversations around serious illness.
The course is designed for individual learners as well as mosques, Islamic centers, chaplaincy teams, healthcare organizations, and Muslim-serving community groups that want a structured learning experience around serious illness, care planning, and religiously informed decision-making.
